Thief

Thief

(Probably banned in a specific clocktower)

(Intro)

I'll tell you a tale only known by the sages.

A dark smear of ink across Syndicate’s pages.

Of an age filled with dragons and monsters galore.

Not a hero was left who could settle the score

So we called on a thief.

(V1)

In a time when the men of the land had red eyes

And the shadows of evil once clouded their minds,

Now, in those days the dungeons were filled to the brim

Of innocent victims for the emperor's sins.

He was shrouded in shade. They called him a robber

Yet he never took even one hard-earned copper.

He arrived in the night and he came to set free

All the people put under Clockwork's lock and key.

Yes, they called him a thief.

(Chorus)

Thief!

Rogue!

They call him a stray

While he lockpicks the shackles that keep them enslaved.

Crook!

Sneak!

His steps they can't track.

His people were stolen, but he stole them back.

A tale of the shadows, of tricks and disguises.

A hero of Thorae that Clockwork despises.

He's a breaker of chains and he came to release

The poor souls trapped in darkness and bring them to peace,

But they call him a thief.

(V2)

I heard Syndicate’s guards claim they saw a phantom,

A reaper in mist, and their posts they abandoned.

Chains unlocked themselves and the cell doors were haunted.

They increased the bounties. The posters said, “wanted.”

Oh, the hunters, they can't trace a hood and a mask.

All the doomed prey escaped from the emperor's grasp.

So Clockwork was had by a thief in the night,

By an outlaw who stole to make everything right,

And they called him a thief.

(Chorus)

(V3)

Was this shadow a prince or was he a pauper?

This burglar prevented a Syndicate slaughter.

The empire’s traitor or man of the people?

A criminal, scoundrel, or thwarter of evil?

No one knows where he went. No one knows whence he came.

No one knows who he was and no one knows his name.

The thief might be alive and he may yet be free.

Whatever befell him, you will not hear from me

Or my song of a thief.

(Chorus)

Oh, they called him a thief.

Hear my tale of a thief.

Eyes Up

Eyes Up

Guardian, oh, guardian, lift up your shield.
Stand against evil with courage and zeal.
Cut through the darkness with light shining new.
Carry the burden that's set before you.

Guardian, oh, guardian, our lives in your hands.
Your mercy and justice are known through these lands.
We trust your resolve not to lead us astray.
Protector of life, in your ward we will stay.

Guardian, oh, guardian, with sharp blade so bright.
Time passes on, but don't give up the fight.
Reject all temptation. Yield not to despair.
Hold to the promise. Keep vigil with care.

Guardian, oh, guardian, I see in your eyes
The fear that both haunts you and keeps us alive.
Courage, dear heart, turn your gaze to the skies.
The stars brightest burn on the darkest of nights.

Guardian, oh, guardian, we cannot repay
Your service for keeping the demons at bay
And slaying the monsters with countenance brave.
Your acts of devotion humanity save.

Guardian, oh, guardian, lift up your shield.
Stand against evil with courage and zeal.
Our hearts go with you wherever you roam.
Guardian, oh guardian, you're never alone.
Our hearts are with you when you're far from home.
Guardian, dear guardian, you're never alone.
